Summary
CD Poker is a member of the ipoker network which uses Playtech’s software. There are about 1400-1600 players at tables at peak times and 2900 – 3100 at the tournaments. A useful feature of CD Poker is that it is available in eight different languages, English, Swedish, Danish, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. CD poker has its own poker school, featuring an eleven step lesson program, a glossary and a probabilities table of being dealt statistics. These can be useful to help bring your game up a level. Through Playtech, CD Poker is linked to a number of casinos, from which they actively recruit players, and which makes for a number of less experienced poker players and fairly loose games. Unfortunately it also means that most of the action takes place at the lower stake tables, though it should still be fairly easy to get a return on your investment.
Games
CD Poker offers the usual Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, and Seven card stud, both High and Hi/Lo. Limits range from the low 5c up to $40 and there are both limit and no limit games. The majority of play however is on the lower stake tables. There are also a wide range of tournaments, including freeroll tournaments, which have a higher volume than the ring games.
Navigation
The home page is easy to navigate with clear headings making it easy to find everything and the option to change to one of eight languages. The lobby graphics are clear showing the game, stakes, players, wait, flop percentage, hands played, and average pot. Your balance can be checked, and it is possible to go through to the cashier or ask for help with just a click of a button. The table graphics are clear, with large, easy to read cards, though personally I found the people graphics a little off putting, though they do make it instantly clear how many seats are available.
CD Poker has a Buddy list function, allowing you to find other players, and there are also the options of checking out the game history and making player notes. This can help give your game an edge, as you can learn your opponents’ game but you must remember that they can do the same for you.
Bonuses/Promotions
CD Poker has a number of bonuses. There is a deposit bonus match of 50% up to a maximum of $200 and a reload bonus of 50% up to $300. The bonuses however have to be earned through your contributions to raked hands, which earn you CD points. The more points you earn the easier it becomes to earn more points as CD Poker operates a tiered system. There are Queens, Cowboys and Rockets and depending on your status you are awarded a differing number of points for either your rake contribution or your entrance in tournaments. Other benefits include entry to tournaments that are available only to higher tiered players, and special bonuses, more of which are promised in the future. CD poker also has a refer a friend bonus of $50 for both you and your friend, a best hand daily bonus of $150, and a bad beat bonus with a prize fund of up to $1000.

CD Poker has a standard rake of 5% up to a maximum of $3, except for $1/$2 limit tables where the maximum is $1. Tables with only 2-3 players pay a maximum of $1, and those with only 4-5 players pay a maximum of $2.
